Kyle McMahon – Competitive Athlete, Surrey
After a car accident left me with a brain injury, I had to learn how to walk, talk and do almost everything all over again. My grandfather got me into swimming as a way to rehabilitate. I’ve been swimming competitively for about 14 years now, and won a gold medal and set the Canadian record in 50m Butterfly during trials for the 2012 London Paralympics. My dream is to swim in the 2016 Paralympics in Brazil.
My grandfather is my biggest role model. He inspires me to never give up. He also introduced me to Prospera. He works with their Wealth Management Advisor to make sure I’ll be taken care of no matter what, so I can focus on what’s important to me.
I love that Prospera sponsors community events. I enjoy volunteering my time with them to share my passion for sport and help others have fun. The support of community doesn’t just help you develop as an athlete but also as a healthy, productive human being.
